" but then you should remember that Jerry was only half "white." "

WTF is your point there? Jerry never embraced his hertiage except for his American one. And being that he remained A-political, I'm sure he wouldn't want you or me or anyone else briniging up his name to further our political points

That makes sense. And trying to claim he would does this or that now doesn't make sense. Some people are mad at the band for choosing someone they don't favor.

I wouldn't be too sure that Jerry "never embraced his heritage." It's not always straight forward.

It certainly doesn't appear he did but that isn't to say I knew him and know for sure. Perhaps his Dad with held too. His Dad was born in Spain, I find it hard to imagine that he never spoke Spanish.

I've always had a fascination with Jerry's heritage because it's allmost identical with mine. Irish on my Mom's side and Spanish on my Dad's. Jerry's Dad ( like my great whatever Grandfather ) was born in Spain, but to everyone in this country it doesn't matter, you're Mexican. I'm not saying anything good or bad about being a Mexican it's just how it is. Meanwhile I feel just like what it seems Jerry did - American

in my early dead "career" i always thought Jerry WAS Mexican. of course, that is mainly because he was from Cali where spics run rampant.

Even in a weakened hippie culture around San Francisco, I never heard words like these.

It's been a long time since I learned that everyone with long hair wasn't necessarily hip, I'm still surprised.
